God of War III Sex Mini-Game, Exposed! [Nsfw]

Like previous God of War games, God of War III has sex mini-games. Because a mini-game is pretty much what sex is, isn’t it? The scene takes place in Aphrodite’s Chamber, and was almost cut. “It was more a debate between me and several of the story writers,” God of War III director Stig Asmussen told website UGO. “I was like, ‘I’d rather not have it in there at all.’” “We make it more than it’s been in the past, but we also give it more of a purpose,” said Asmussen. “It’s not just you going in there, finding some corner and having sex with somebody. It’s something that guides you through the story. You get information and more than just a fluff moment.” Heavily censored footage has surfaced on YouTube, along with pixelated screengrabs. And, of course, the mini-game in its entirety. The clip is viewable here . Judge for yourself, but be warned: There’s nudity and possible spoilers. While there is nudity, the scene itself isn’t exactly sexy per se. The dialogue is hammy in a goofy, porn sort of way, and pails in comparison to the sexual pyrotechnics of adventure game Uncharted 2 and sci-fi game Mass Effect 2. The point, however, of the God of War mini-games are and have always been to show how manly protagonist Kratos is. シリーズ恒例、『ゴッド・オブ・ウォー III』のセックスミニゲーム動画 [はちま起稿]

Sony: Heavy Rain Selling "Incredibly Well," No Need For PS4 Yet [Sony]

Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Jack Tretton seems incredibly pleased with Heavy Rain’s reception with PlayStation 3 owners, saying that the newly released game’s pre-sales were “off the charts,” underscoring that there’s no need yet for a PlayStation 4. Tretton tells Fast Company that the next generation of the PlayStation family won’t arrive until there’s a clear need for it. And with the PS3 just now hitting its stride three-plus years in, when the traditional console cycle is past the halfway mark, Tretton says, there’s still plenty of life left in the console. “When somebody can craft the technology that exceeds what we’re able to do on the PS3, but we are still just starting to harness it,” Tretton argues. “I don’t know what the percentage would be, but we’ve clearly just scratched the surface in the PS3. You’re just starting to see games like Little Big Planet, Uncharted 2, and Final Fantasy XIII, that are really taking advantage of the technology. You are going to see more and more value and more and more innovation across the board.” Jack’s also pretty please with the annual “Year of the PS3″ claims. Not from Sony, mind you, but from other folks. So which year is it again? Sony Computer Entertainment CEO on Motion Controls and the Year of the PlayStation 3 [Fast Company]

Naughty Dog Helping Naughty Dogs [La]

Reader Christopher was down at his local animal shelter in Long Beach, California recently when he noticed something a little odd. The kennels there are mostly sponsored by companies to help keep things running, and most of those companies are pet-related. Dog food, cat grooming, that sort of thing. Except this one, which is sponsored by video game developer Naughty Dog, the team responsible for the Uncharted and Jak & Daxter series. Know what I like most about this? This is the first I’ve heard of it. There wasn’t a press release issued with pictures of it being built, or a Spike TV segment showing some guy dressed up as Nathan Drake cuddling lost dogs. It’s just…something that’s been done. Which is the way this kind of business should be done.

It’s time to get reacquainted with some awfully British-Empire-sounding places like “The Customs House”, in these screenshots for Uncharted 2’s latest downloadable content pack . To recap , there’ll be two new multiplayer maps and some new multiplayer skins made available, all based on levels and characters from the first Uncharted game. Sadly, neither of the levels is a submarine on top of a waterfall. The new stuff will be out on February 25.

Kotaku’s game of the year, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, has spawned an official soundtrack which you can now purchase in physical form at your local record store on a “compact disc.” Fascinating! Greg Edmonson’s score for the PlayStation 3 action-adventure has been—as Naughty Dog points out on the PlayStation.blog—available on iTunes for some time. The expanded version, adding three tracks, has just been released and should be at a Peaches or Sam Goody or Camelot Music near you at this very second. Naughty Dog has offered a preview of the missing trio of tracks at the PlayStation.blog if you’re curious. It’s perfect for your next rock climbing outing!
