We close out the final weekend of the shortest month with a smattering of deals on new games and a helpful way for you to wring more value out of your old ones. Onward, Weekend Coupons! Hardware • Did your out-of-warranty 360 red ring? An Arcade through Dell Small Business is about the cost of a repair and you don’t have to hassle with shipping your bricked unit back (at your expense). Get it for $159 with free shipping. Other deals include an Arcade plus a Transport Pack for $200 through Tiger Direct, and an Elite plus a $50 gift card for $300 from Best Buy, a deal that ends tomorrow. [ Dealzon ] Software • This isn’t a deal per se but it is a valuable tool. Cheapy’s fired up his “Cagomatic” Trade-In Value Tracker, a searchable database providing current trade-in prices for used games at Amazon, Blockbuster, Game Crazy and Gamestop. This is especially handy considering GameStop’s 50 percent trade-in bonus campaign that began last Monday and ends March 14. [ Cheap Ass Gamer , must be a registered user.] • Preordering Just Cause 2 through Amazon gets you a $15 credit toward a future video game purchase. It also gets you into a jeep tethered to the back of a 747 as it lands on a highway overpass. OK, no it doesn’t. [ TechDealDigger ] • Preordering MLB 2K10 from Amazon gets you that game for $4 off ($55.99) plus a $10 video game credit. The game is out Monday.[ Dealzon ] • GoGamer.com’s latest Madness Sale ends Monday – it includes MAG (PS3), Modern Warfare 2 (PS3) and and Mass Effect 2 (360) for $10, $9, and $5 off their next best, respectively prices. You also get free shipping on orders $25+ with coupon SHIPFREE25. [ Dealzon ] • Batman: Arkham Asylum (PC) is $12.49 via Games for Windows LIVE. That is stupefying, down almost to an impulse purchase level. Next best price is $39. Hell, I already have it on PS3 and I don’t even own a Windows PC and I might buy it. Sale ends at 10 a.m. U.S. Pacific time on Monday. [ Dealzon ] • Target’s latest circular lists Dante’s Inferno for $20 off. Not sure if that is an MSRP drop (or if it’s a discount that includes one) but it’s the newest game on their list of sale titles. As always, smart gamers can find values any day of the week, so if you’ve run across a deal, share it with us in the comments.

You know what I haven’t had in forever on Saturday morning? Lucky Charms. Mmmmm, frosted Lucky Charms. But we’ve had 52 straight Weekend Coupons, celebrating its one-year anniversary today. Hardware • Target’s ramped up a big “Tax Season Savings on Office Electronics” sale, and of course, who can’t do their taxes without an Xbox 360 Elite? Get one for $299.99 and Target throws in a $50 gift card. Remember you can’t write off this purchase until next year. I can’t find it online, but I promise we got sent this from Target PR, so ask about it in-store. • Again, only a fool pays full freight for an Xbox 360 subscription. They’re almost always on sale, and you can redeem them months after you buy one. Newegg has the cards for $34.99. [ TechDealDigger ] Software • On Direct2Drive, Bionic Commando: Rearmed for the PC is half off, for $7.50. If that’s your platform and you don’t have this game, I don’t know what you’re waiting for. It’s loads of fun, has high replay value and the soundtrack is amazing. Available everywhere except Germany, Japan and South Korea. Hmmm, wonder why. [ Direct2Drive ] • GameFly subscribers, take note of this sale. Better yet, if you’ve rented these and still have them in your house, you can keep them for cheap. GameFly still sends you the case and manual. Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, Ghostbusters, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Uncaged Edition) are $9.99. Call of Duty: World at War is $14.99 and Prototype is $17.99 [ Cheap Ass Gamer ] • If you’re feeling inspired by his Olympic gold medal victory, Amazon has the cheapest Wii Fit attachment snowboards for the Shaun White games. One is made by CTA, the other by Company X, and both are $29.99. (Next best are $40 and $48, respectively.) [ Dealzon ] • It might be more than two years old but it’s still a good game, and the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Edition for Xbox 360 is $26.99 through Amazon. [ TDD ] • Battlefield: Bad Company 2’s PC pre-order, for $49.95 gives you a Beta Access Code. I dunno why you want that when the game drops March 2. Oh, because the preorder also gives you Battlefield 2142 Deluxe. Get it through the EA Store. [ TDD ] • On that note, Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty pre-orders have started for $49.99. [ Dealzon ] • World of Warcraft: Battle Chest (PC/Mac) is $26.99 shipped from Newegg. It’s $30 at Amazon, and $40 everywhere else. [ Dealzon ] As always, smart gamers can find values any day of the week, so if you’ve run across a deal, share it with us in the comments.

Remember that profile we ran Thursday about the newly launched reselling marketplace ? The one that got, as we say around here, Kotaku’d by all the traffic? All’s well now and they’ve thrown our readers a coupon as a goodwill gesture. Glyde , the site that’s been a big hit with gamers since well before its official launch in November, is offering $3 off any single game purchase with the promo code KOTAKU. You’ll need to create an account there, of course. This is important: There’s gray text that says “Have a coupon code?” underneath the total price. Click that and enter the code there and hit “apply code” before you hit the big blue “buy” button. Otherwise, you’ll have 30 seconds to cancel the transaction, then go back and enter the code to get your discount. And with that, let’s get to the rest of the deals: Hardware • The plain, yet still mysterious Final Fantasy XIII 360 console bundle is now up for sale at Amazon. Comes with a 250GB drive, 2 controllers, and the FF13 game for $399.99. Release date is March 9. [ Dealzon ] Software • Trine is $9.99 (usually $19.99) on both PSN and with a download code bought from Amazon. Not sure how long that sale will last. [ Cheap Ass Gamer ] • This Saturday is the last day of Amazon’s “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” sale on Xbox 360 Platinum Hits. Includes original titles that spawned recent hot sequels like Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin’s Creed, and Army of Two among 36 total – mostly priced at $20, $28, and $30. [ Dealzon ] • The coupon code FEB10OFF at GameStop gets you strong savings on a couple of games. With it, Darksiders is $35.99 with free shipping – and a $10 store credit. And use it on Valkyria Chronicles to get it for $17.99 plus $2.99 shipping. These are new games, not used. [TechDealDigger] • Assassin’s Creed II: Discovery for iPhone, iTouch, and (soon) Pad has been slashed 30 percent in the App(le) Store. Usually $9.99, now $6.99, so I guess that’s just three dollars. Free shipping, though! [ Dealzon ] • Steam’s weekend deal: The RPG Mount & Blade is $4.99 (normally $29.99) Reader Jump4816 also reminds that the entire Total War series is 66 percent off until Monday, and the THQ Complete Pack is half off through Friday. [ Steam ] • PC gamers: Newegg has Street Fighter IV bundled with the Mad Catz “FightPad” for $34.99 (plus free shipping). That’s $20 off the next lowest (GoGamer). [ Dealzon ] • Direct2Drive’s deal (ends Feb. 19): Hammerfight, for $4.95 (normally $9.95). [ Direct2Drive ] • Pitchers and catchers report in a week and the Super Bowl was last Sunday. But if you’ve still got a football jones, Blitz: The League II on PS3 is $9.99 shipped from Newegg. Next best is $21. [ Dealzon ] As always, smart gamers can find values any day of the week, so if you’ve run across a deal, share it with us in the comments.

Not too many jaw-dropping deals, as we seem to have cleared not only the Christmas sales period, but also the post-Christmas clearance window. But with the first big wave of new releases coming up, some new values can be found. Hardware • Amazon’s Xbox Elite 120GB plus $50 Gift Card deal for $293.99 ends today. Looks like the last, and best, 360 Elite + GC deal of the post-holiday retail merry-go-round … for now. [ Dealzon ] • This is the best second-guitar sale I’ve seen in a while: From Buy.com, $26.99 gets you a Rock Band Fender Stratocaster, which is always handy as a spare (or a new axe), and it gives you AC/DC Live Rock Band. It also gives you the craptacular Rock Revolution. But the point here is, new second guitar controller (and yes, it’s wireless) and then the AC/DC tunes if you wanted an excuse for that. [ TechDealDigger ] • Amazon finally caught up with old times and is stocking the Retrolink USB Nintendo (NES) Classic Controller for a Feb. 1 ship date. It’s $7.99 and qualifies for free Super Saver or Prime shipping. Normally $30 shipped elsewhere, except on the rare occasion that GoGamer has it in stock for $16-$20. [ Dealzon ] Software • Steam’s weekend sale is the Company of Heroes series. Get Company of Heroes, or Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts for $4.99; Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor is $7.49. The whole shootin’ match (literally) is $12.49. These discounts amount to 75 percent off. [ Steam ] • If you’re looking to buy BioShock 2 on the PC and can find three other friends, four copies of that game plus four free copies of the first BioShock can be had for $134.97 if you pre-order on Steam, making the per-person cost $33.74. If you can’t find three other friends or don’t want the hassle, you can buy a single copy of BioShock 2 for $44.99 (10 percent off) and still get the free BioShock. [ Cheap Ass Gamer ] • Amazon started selling PlayStation Network access codes back in October but to this point it’s mainly just offered convenience. Well, Friday they finally launched a decent little sale – 50 percent off five popular PS3 downloadable games ($3.49 to $7.49, were $6.99 to $14.99). The sale includes Braid, Critter Crunch, Burn Zombie Burn and a token PSP title, Kurulin Fusion. [ Dealzon ] • For two new games launching on Tuesday, January 26 – Mass Effect 2 (360, PC) and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (Wii) – Amazon has the best price ($3 off lists $60/50/50, respectively) plus they’re throwing in $10 credits for future game purchases if you pre-order through Monday. [Dealzon] As always, smart gamers can find values any day of the week, so if you’ve run across a deal, share it with us in the comments.

Looking at this week’s deals, one gets the sense that retailers didn’t move enough consoles or accessories, because they’re still pushing them, all the way to Planet Basketball . Chewchilla, prepare for light speed, it’s time for Weekend Coupons Ham Salad Hardware • ‘Tis the season for big box retailers to get rid of console stock. Ending today is Best Buy’s offer of $60 off any game or accessory, with the purchase of an Xbox 360 Arcade for $199.99. That “up to $60 off” sounds like it is applicable to one item only, you don’t get another $20 off something else if you buy a $40 item with it. [ Dealzon ] • Walmart’s counter offer – any Xbox 360 console (Elite, Arcade, or refurbed 20GB Pro) gets you a $50 gift card that’s good for online shopping only. The $50 credit is not eligible in stores. [ Dealzon ] • Santa’s elves must have made a truckload of the Xbox 360 Elite Pure/Lego Batman bundles, because they are still flogging them, this time through Dell for $269.99. That’s $30 off the next lowest shipped price. [ TechDealDigger ] • Also, if your Xbox 360 controller goes through batteries like crap through a goose, Amazon has Play and Charge kits but only in two flavors: Red or Black . Price comparisons show that’s $8 better than the next best price elsewhere, and just $5 more than the best deal on a standard controller. [Dealzon] Fluke Starbucker Software • Another deal ending today is Amazon’s $20 store credit offer, if you spend $80 or more from a select list of titles. There 84 Xbox 360 games to choose from, 83 PS3 and 116 on the Wii (Many PS2 and DS games also eligible.) Looks like they’re getting rid of holiday stock, as none of the most recent blockbusters like Modern Warfare 2 or Assassin’s Creed 2 are involved. But Borderlands, the God of War Collection and NCAA Football 10 are. The $20 comes back as a store credit good for your next purchase of a game only. [ Dealzon ] • Remember also that the Toys R Us Buy-One-Get-Half-Off deal also is ongoing. It’s applicable to all PS2, PS3, 360 and Wii games. Cheap Ass Gamer notes the deal applies to $19.99 DS titles and $19.99 game accessories. • Steam’s betting you have holiday cash to burn; they’ve put a bunch of stuff on sale. Today only, though, you can grab Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 for $10.19; The Elder Scrolls II: Morrowind GOTY Edition for $4.99; Counter-Strike: Source for $4.99; Trine for $4.99 and Painkiller: Collectors Pack for $8.74. There’ll be a new batch tomorrow at 10 a.m. U.S. Mountain time. Steam’s also offering bundles from Eidos and Codemasters, plus titles by THQ, 2K, Ubi and Rockstar at steep discounts. Basically, anything that’s not Call of Duty, you can expect it’s probably on sale. [ Steam ] As always, smart gamers can find values any day of the week, so if you’ve run across a deal, share it with us in the comments.

Sixteen shopping days are left until Christmas, dragging out more deals this week on games, hardware and bundles. See inside for the latest inducements and enticements, or see what otther readers are touting in the comments. Hardware • Amazon is bundling the Xbox 360 Arcade with free Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The $256 value is yours for the regular console price of $199. [ Dealzon ] • Amazon’s also bundling the 250GB PS3 configuration for $350, with two free Blu-Ray movies, until Thursday - or “while supplies last.” You heard the giant online retailer, move it! [ Dealzon ] • And Buy.com has a weird bundle that begins Monday – three games, Crackdown, Perfect Dark Zero and Project Sylpheed, plus two rechargable controller battery packs, all for $29.99, plus free shipping. Basically, should you have need for the battery packs, you can get some free games tossed in. [ Dealzon ] Software • Through Thursday, that coupon (above) gets you 30 percent more trade-in value at GameStop, limit two titles. • Also, the code: B2G1FREE gets you a free third used game when you buy two online at GameStop. [ GameStop ] • Any game offered by the EA Store is 30 percent off when you use the coupon code EAPARTNERS2009. There’s also a Saturday-only sale there offering titles for less than $15. [ TechDealDigger ] • I gotta like what Cheap Ass Gamer suggests here. Amazon’s giving you 50 percent off any title on a list of Xbox 360 “family games” if you buy one game full price. So that means you can get your Dead Space, and your Brütal Legend, or any other M-rated title and still pick up Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection for ten bucks, among others. [ Cheap Ass Gamer ] • Steam’s weekend deal is Counter Strike: Source for $5. Of course they’re hoping you’ll decide instead to buy a $29.99 Counter Strike bundle (six games) or the $99.99 Valve bundle, which as it gets you Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, Team Fortress 2, Half-Life 2’s Episodes 1 and 2, is not such a bad bargain – if you don’t own these already. [ Steam ] • Two years later, it still makes a good gift. The Halo 3 Legendary Edition is $29.99 with free shipping on NewEgg. Or, you can consider it a $29.99 unwearable Spartan helmet for yourself. [ TDD ] • GoGamer’s usual 48-Hour Madness Sale is now called White Friday, which includes the usual $10 bargain-bin stuff, but also savings on Prototype, Assassin’s Creed II, Avatar, Left 4 Dead 2 (all $49.90) plus Prototype ($19.90) and Wolfenstein ($22.90) both on the PC. Wireless Xbox 360 controllers also are going for $18.90 (white) or $22.90 (black) [ GoGamer ] • Dealzon points out GoGamer reduced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to $49.90, the most reliably low price through an online retailer out there right now. If that changes, they’ll post the best deal on this game at the link. [ Dealzon ] As always, smart gamers can find values any day of the week, so if you’ve run across a deal, share it with us in the comments.

Retailers are trying to move more than games, they’re discounting hardware, too. If you’re so gauche that you’re gonna buy a console when you should be thinking of others – I say right on, you’ve come to the right place. Hardware • Wii. $15 off. Get it through Dell. Not much that needs to be said after that, right? Oh, free shipping. [ Dealzon ] • I’ve seen this deal elsewhere, and expect to see it more this holiday season. Dell is also offering the 120GB Elite Bundle which gets you Lego Batman and Pure for $269.99. Free shipping. [ TechDealDigger ] • Best Buy has its own variation on that bundle, but also pairs it with a 12-month Xbox Live sub for a grand total of $309.98. The offer takes effect tomorrow. Ship it for a buck or pick it up in store [ Dealzon ] • Today is the final day Sony Style is offering a 120GB and 250GB PS3 Slim with Infamous and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune free with the purchase of either. [ Dealzon ] Software • Remember that Walmart and GameStop are battling it out for your dollars on a bunch of current releases. You simply shouldn’t be paying full retail price on a game without checking there first. • That said, Microsoft is selling Beatles: Rock Band, Band Hero (games only) and Batman: Arkham Asylum for $29.99. That would be the Xbox 360 versions of those games, of course. [ TDD ] • NewEgg’s 72-hour Winter Sale has a bunch of games for less than $15, if you you need a stocking stuffer that looks like it cost a lot more. That is, unless you’re buying for a Kotaku reader. [ Cheap Ass Gamer ] As always, smart gamers can find values any day of the week, so if you’ve run across a deal, share it with us in the comments.
