Yakuza 3’s PAL Collector’s Edition Is Also Its Regular Edition [Sega]

Most high profile games these days have a regular edition and a collector’s edition. Yakuza 3 , however – at least in PAL territories – will only have a collector’s edition. Making it regular! Sega announced today that only one version of the game is to released in Europe and Australasia, with that version given a standard price along with some not-so-standard inclusions. Bundled along with the game itself will be a 31-song soundtrack, an interactive “beginner’s guide” to the history and relationships of the series’ characters (very handy considering few people will have played the preceding games) and four pieces of DLC for the title (which, admittedly, were released in Japan for free) included on the disc. Sure, it’s a little on the thin side compared to collector’s editions that you pay extra for, but for what are essentially free additions, it’s a nice touch.

Heavy Rain’s Special Edition Short On Wet Tank Tops [PS3]

Heavy Rain ’s Europe-only Special Edition, first announced last month , has now been shown off by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. It comes in a fancy gatefold cover, treated to make the textured raindrops appear “real”, includes a promo code for the game’s DLC, some cute (and bloody) little origami and a big fold-out covered in notes, which in the best case will be helpful solving the game’s mysteries, worst case will look nice on the wall of a Heavy Rain fan.

God Of War Collection Getting A European Release [God Of War]

Having so far been released only in the United States, the God of War Collection will finally be released in PAL territories in 2010. Only, there’s a catch. See, in the US, it was released in convenient, standalone form. But the only way PAL customers will be able to get their hands on a copy is if they grab the European version of the God of War III Ultimate Edition , as it’ll be included within, along with a ton of other stuff. Who knows, there might still be a chance the collection will be released individually early next year, but with the God of War franchise not as big in Europe as it is in the US (hence the fact the collection hasn’t yet been released), I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Vagrant Story Dated For (PAL) PlayStation Store Release [Psn]

Last month, we received the uplifting news that Square’s classic Vagrant Story was on its way to the PAL PlayStation Store. Thing is, back then, it didn’t have a release date. It does now! And that date is Tuesday, December 22, which we guess must also be the day Europe’s PlayStation Store is update next week (it normally takes place on a Friday, but next Friday is Christmas day). As for price, it’ll sell for €6 (USD$8.50), which really, is a steal. Still no word on an American release, but seeing as Australia’s store is tied to the European outlet, this may not bother me as much as it will bother some of you .
