Actress Sienna Guillory appeared in flick Resident Evil : Apocalypse as character Jill Valentine , but was M.I.A. in the third film, Resident Evil: Extinction. Rumors have it that there was a contract dispute with the actress. Director Paul W.S. Anderson is currently filming Resident Evil: Afterlife and star Milla Jovovich tweeted this tidbit: “Valentine MAY be back.” That also means she may not be back. Perhaps, Guillory worked out her contract issues or perhaps the producers are bringing on another actress altogether to play Valentine. Valentine to Return in Resident Evil: Afterlife? Union Contracts Now Include "Vocally Stressful," "Atmospheric" Work [Voice Acting]

Two major unions supplying voice actors for video games have both won pay raises under provisional new contracts, which also spell out terms for “vocally stressful” work and “atmospheric” roles in which one person voices multiple minor characters. Assuming the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists ratify the contracts, their terms will be in effect until March 30, 2011. Under the deals, SAG gets an immediate 3 percent raise in its scale rate. On top of that, in April, both SAG and AFTRA get a 2.5 percent raise. Also of note: the real screamer roles – “vocally stressful” they’re called under the new terms – will require a notification by employers to actors. The two sides must also work out a set of guidelines for such stressful work by the end of the current contract. Additionally, the contract creates an “atmospheric voices” class of work, which allows developers to hire a single voice actor to play numerous roles in a single recording session. Reed Hastings, the chief executive of Netflix, told Reuters his company wants a presence on all video game consoles, but reaffirmed their contract limits them to just the Xbox 360 . For now. Reuters asked “what about the PS3 and the Wii?” and here is his full answer: Eventually we want to be on all the game consoles, all the Blu-ray players, all the Internet TVs. So we are working in parallel with all of those efforts. Currently our Xbox deal is exclusive and we haven’t characterized it more than that. Going further, Reuters asked if there were any partnership talks with Apple, specifically regarding the iPhone. While Hastings said something might happen long term, it is not a near-term goal. “We are not focused on mobile yet, but on the TV, on Blu-ray, and on the video game consoles.” Netflix CEO Reed Hastings on Xbox, Youtube, iPhone [Reuters via Cubed3 ]
