There is no dount about the success of music games and the success they’ve had with video game lovers of all kinds. But, there hasn’t been much competiton to make the Sony PSP delivering a full-blown music experience. Since Guitar Hero: On Tour has been the only game for music lovers on the go for the Nintendo DS, it has been dominantly successful. While Guitar Hero has been mostly solid, it unfortunately did stumble with the recent title, Guitar Hero: On Tour Modern Hits. Now, Rock Band has shown to be just as good for gamers of all kinds, but it hasn’t yet been available for gamers on the go, until now. Sony’s PSP is about to rock out loud, with a big bang.

Rock Band Unplugged  for the Sony PSP, feels more like a rockin’ good time for gamers on the go, and the gameplay definitely shows it. The feeling is definitely addictive and delivers a huge bite for PSP owners. The graphics look great, and deliver a more challenging experience for gamers on the go than what guitar Hero: On Tour Modern Hits had shown. The control here is honestly a bit more solid, and really shows a more diverse track list that works well for the PSP, and for owners to rejoyce.

My favorite gameplay surprise is that you’re playing, is that you’ll playing all the members of the band at once. It brings in a new twist for those who’ve never played Rock Band before, and it really is exciting. While you do have the same features like before like World Tour Mode, the game does handle nicely. I also have to say, I think that the music gameplay list works much better, and includes a lot of great songs including 3 Doors Down’s Kryptonite, The Jackson 5’s ABC which really is fun to jam to, and Billy Idol’s White Wedding. What I also like about the game is the ability to download new material online through the Wi-Fi connection for PSP owners. It really brings more excitement into the game, jamming to great classics like the dark and somber Wonderwall from Oasis, and No Doubt’s Just A Girl.

All in all, Rock Band Unplugged is a really great game for PSP owners everywhere. It brings in a much deeper edge for those who’ve never played other versions of Rock Band on the home consoles. Honestly, it is also a better title than what Guitar Hero: On Tour Modern Hits had brought to the table for the Nintendo DS, and a strong debut for what Sony’s PSP may have down the road for those who haven’t yet rocked out loud with their music on the go. I really liked the game, and I definitely am eager for a sequel soon.
